B. Keith Williams, the founder of The Williams Law Group, has dedicated his practice through two decades to helping everyday people and their families in accident, injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Williams is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. Fewer than 150 attorneys in Tennessee have earned this certification. Mr. Williams has also been a frequent lecturer at legal seminars to other attorneys in Tennessee and in other states.
Mr. Williams is also actively involved in a number of legal associations and organizations that work to maximize the rights of those who are injured. Nationally, he is an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), a member of the AAJ Leaders Forum as well as a member of the Public Justice Foundation. Locally and throughout the State of Tennessee, Mr. Williams currently serves as Parliamentarian for the Tennessee Association for Justice (TAJ), is on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the TAJ, is a member of the TAJ Circle of Advocates, and serves as Co-Chairman of the TAJ Legislative Committee. Mr. Williams is also a contributing member of Lawyers Involved for Tennessee.
Mr. Williams is a veteran, battle-tested trial attorney with significant courtroom experience, having tried literally hundreds of cases in front of a judge or jury and obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. Mr. Williams has obtained numerous substantial verdicts, including a $6,200,000.00 verdict believed to be the largest verdict ever obtained in Sumner County, Tennessee. In addition to courtroom successes, he has also negotiated numerous significant settlements and represented clients not only across Tennessee, but across the country from California to Pennsylvania.
For example, Mr. Williams recently represented the estate and minor child of one of the victims of the Comair Flight 5191 crash in Lexington, Kentucky. During that lengthy litigation-which involved dozens of plaintiffs, numerous defendants, and countless other attorneys-Mr. Williams was actively involved as part of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee (which guided the litigation for the various Plaintiffs) and served with a group of select attorneys chosen for the Plaintiffs' trial team.
Although courtroom victories are exciting, the most gratifying part of Mr. Williams' work is seeing the benefits that his clients receive as a result of the settlements and/or trial victories achieved.
Mr. Williams prides himself in bringing the same small town work ethic and values he grew up with to his practice of law on behalf of his clients. Mr. Williams grew up in rural Hartsville, Tennessee, and earned Business Degrees from Volunteer State Community College and Cumberland University. He then worked days over the next few years to put himself through law school at night, graduating with the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law.
