Albany International to Close Portland TN Plant

Albany International Corp. announced that it is closing its Portland, TN plant.  The fabric plant closing will leave 156 Tennessee workers without a job.  A final shutdown expected by June 30, 2010.  Most of the employees will be laid off beginning in September and some will remain until the plant closes completely in the summer of 2010.

IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER HAVE HAD A PAST WORK RELATED INJURY IN WHICH WORKERS COMPENSATION WAS PAID, YOU MAY BE DUE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION.
Tennessee Workers Compensation Laws provide that, if an employee receives a Workers Compensation settlement or judgment and the employer has returned the employee to work, the amount of the settlement or judgment is limited.  Thereafter, if the employee loses their job for any reason including PLANT CLOSINGS, the employee may be entitled to have the previous award enlarged.

Please call or click to discuss the "reconsideration" of your work related injury with a experienced Tennessee Worker's Compensation attorney at The Williams Law Group.  We can help!
