A Coffee County ambulance crashed into a TDOT dump truck on closing I-24 for a short time.
The Saturday Independent reported, that there were multiple injuries in the accident that bottled-necked I-24 - flooding the streets of Manchester with interstate traffic. One person involved was airlifted to Centennial Medical Center in Nashville with non life threatening injuries. One of the ambulance workers involved was taken to Medical Center of Manchester.
The accident occurred near mile marker 114 and the Highway 41 South exit in Manchester, according to wkrn.com.
Victor Jones, with the Manchester Police Department said, the injured worker had just gotten up from the bench on the back passenger side when the ambulance hit the trailer and truck, peeling back its entire right side.
