A deadly auto crash, North of Nashville closed Interstate 24 on March 24, 2009.
The fatal wreck happened near exit 35 outside of Joelton. It involved a husband and wife from Iowa who were traveling through Tennessee in their Nissan Altima. They collided with a Chevy Trailblazer around 6:30 a.m.
News Channel 5 reports that one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way down the interstate but at the time of the report it was not clear which vehicle was headed in the wrong direction.
The impact killed the Iowa wife and severely injured the Husband and the driver of the Trailblazer. Metro Police stated that the driver of the Trailblazer might have been drinking and driving.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation detoured West bound traffic off and around I- 24 West while the scene was cleared. Read more ...
