Garage Door Causes Death of Child Alleged in Lawsuit

A faulty garage door caused the death of a 6 year old child when it closed on him, according to a lawsuit filed by his parents.  The lawsuit alleges was filed against the homeowner, the installer of the garage door and the manufacturer of the garage door.  The minor's death was due to compressional asphyxia after he was trapped under the garage door, according to the Cook County, IL's medical examiner's office.  The young child had been playing outside by himself when his 9 year old brother found him fatally injured.
