A waitress at a local resturant who injured her back in a fall, was awarded $240,000.00 in Workers Compensation benefits along with lifetime medical treatment related to her spinal injury. The employer contended that the injury was pre-existing and therefor not work related. B Keith Williams tried the case and the injury was found to be work related and the injured worker was declared to be 100% disabled.
The award was lower than most workers who are found to be totally disabled because the worker was only employed part time for the resturant.
