How long do I have to file a lawsuit against someone who caused injuries to mein an auto accident?
A: In Tennessee, a lawsuit must be filed within one year of the accident. That deadline is what is callded the "Statute of Limitations." If suit is not filed within this one year, your suit will be bared.
There are a few exceptions to this rule, but it is wise to not count on these exceptions. You should also contact an expierenced personal injury attorney well in advance of this year so he or she has time to properly investigate the claim and identify all potentially liable parties.
