What is the minimum amount of car insurance that I am required to have in Tennessee?

A: Tennessee law requires you to carry minimum liability coverage of $25,000 per person and $50,000 coverage per accident.  This means that you must have coverage of up to $25,000 for one single person's injuries and up to $50,000 for all people injured in an accident.  This means that no one person can receive more than $25,000 for their injuries and the insurance company would never pay more than $50,000 for all injuries no matter how many people were involved in the accident.  You are also required to maintain at least $10,000 in property damage insurance.
