In promoting their focused interest in profits, these big businesses and workers compensation insurance companies want us to believe that frivolous workers compensation claims are running rampant. They want the general public to believe that our elected judges are handing out unreasonable workers compensation awards left and right that injure our economy; In Tennessee they want us to believe that there is a workers compensation crisis in Tennessee. This propaganda by big business and the workers compensation insurance companies is only one part of a propaganda campaign called “Tort Reform and or Workers Compensation Reform.”

Tort Reform and Workers Compensation Reform is nothing more than big business’ and worker compensation insurance companies attempt to:

•scare the public into limiting the recovery injured workers can receive for their work related injuries’;

•scare the public into accepting caps (or limits) on recoveries for the loss of ability to earn a living endured by those who have been injured at work;

•scare the public into limiting the ability of injured workers to recover for their required medical treatment;

•increase their profits by stuffing their own pockets with monies that should go to compensating injured workers.
