A Macon County, TN collision sends locals to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by air ambulance. A Red Boiling Springs man was driving east bound on Highway 52 when, for unknown reasons, his car crossed the yellow line, colliding with the westbound vehicle. Both drivers were removed by emergency personnel.

A motorcycle crash kills a Lebanon, Tennessee woman and injures another in White County on Highway 84 near the England's Cove area. According the State Trooper at the scene, the couple was riding together when the motorcycle struck the guardrail while going around a curve, throwing the passenger off. The motorcycle and the driver came to rest further down the road. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver severely injured. The report notes both riders were wearing helmets.

An auto accident involving an ambulance in Erin, Tennessee sent two people to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Air Ambulance. The crash occurred on Highway 49 in Houston County. State Troopers and Houston County officials responded to the scene. The ambulance and car were the only vehicles involved in the crash. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, although, officials have released that the ambulance driver was not at fault. The ambulance was not carrying any patients at the time but it is unclear whether the emergency lights were on.
Metro police responded to a motorcycle wreck that left a man critically injured. The local Tennessean identified as, 25-year-old Paul Rose was riding his motorcycle in South Nashville when he hit a truck. The truck was pulling out of a residence when the driver failed to yield. Rose was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition. The driver and passenger in the truck was not injured.

Two auto accidents left two Nashville people and a Metro Police Officer injured on Interstate 40. The officer was called to respond to a vehicle that had lost control and hit a guardrail before sliding down an embankment. While filling out the accident report, another vehicle swerved across two lanes before slamming into the patrol car. Police believe that alcohol may have been involved. The Middle Tennessee drivers are in serious conditions at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville. The Metro Police Officer went to the hospital and sustained only minor injuries.

A Murfreesboro, TN man was killed when his box truck collided into the back of an 18-wheeler on I-24. The Rutherford County man was pinned inside his vehicle when rescuers were trying to get to him. The Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service spokesperson, Randy White, commented “our guys were very heroic on that call. We just couldn’t get to him.” EMS could not release the name of the victim at this time. Traffic along I-24 was backed up for several hours while Sheriff’s deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol cleared the scene. It’s said that the cause of the wreck was due to hydroplaning. During inclement weather, it’s more likely for these kinds of wrecks to occur.

Continuous winter storms in the Nashville, Middle Tennessee area have brought a barrage of auto accidents along with them. Throughout the 3 o'clock hour on Wednesday February 9th, dozens of accidents were reported, many involving multiple vehicles. Just off I-65 on Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison, an accident involving ten vehicles was reported. Due to the high number of wrecks, police are only responding to those involving injuries, while emergency management volunteers assist other stranded motorist.
A truck crash on I-40 in Cumberland County, Tn resulted in the death of a North Carolina man.
The victim, who was driving 2007 Freightliner van, ran into the back of a 2006 International truck that had stopped or slowed due to a traffic backup caused by a previous wreck.
The driver of the Freightliner was injured, but it is not known how severely. Both drivers had been wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
An early morning wreck on I-40 concerning four vehicles tied up traffic in the westbound lane. The wreck reportedly occurred just past the Mt. Juliet Road overpass in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The driver of a pick of truck was allegedly texting rear-ended a dually pick up truck hauling an 8-foot box trailer. This sent the dually into the back of another truck. All the people involved only received minor injuries. The driver of the pick up was cited in this incident.

A woman was reportedly injured in a motorcycle wreck that took place in Macon County, Tennessee. The wreck occurred on the Highway 52 By Pass East in Lafayette. The woman was driving a 2002 silver Harley Davidson motorcycle when a Jeep turned directly in her path causing them to collide.The woman was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center because of the severity of her injuries, which included broken bones, road rash, and a partially collapsed lung. The driver of the Jeep was taken to Macon County General Hospital, treated and released. No charges were filed in this accident.
