Nissan's Vice President of Manufacturing in Canton reportedly stated that the expansion at the Canton plant is a major step for the company's growth in the commercial vehicle market. Mississippi governor Haley Barbour has stated that he will assist Nissan with the expansion and characterized the partnership between Nissan and the state of Mississippi as "great."
