California Horse Breeder Dies in Plane Crash

Prominent Southern California horse breeder Frank Vessels was killed when the twin engine Aero Commander Model 500-B he was traveling in crashed 80 miles south of Burns, Oregon.
Vessels, who was piloting the plane, was traveling from  Redding, Calif., to Montana when the plane broke up in the air and was destroyed after crashing.
There was one passenger on board who was also killed in the crash.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash.
