Child Boarding Bus Dies After Being Hit By Car in Warren County, Tennessee

A 7-year-old McMinville, TN child was fatally injured when he was struck by a truck while boarding his school bus in Warren County.  Sedryc Simmons died Friday morning at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

The a first grader at Hickory Creek Elementary School was crossing two lanes of traffic on Old Shelbyville Road  while attempting to board a Warren County School bus. 

The roadway also known as Highway 55 is west of McMinville.

The investigation into the wreck is on going, and criminal charges against the driver of the car are pending.
