Chrysler has issued a recall that affects 24,000 vehicles that could experience a sudden brake failure.
The defective part is found on 2010 model year Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger sedans; Dodge Nitro, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs; and 2009 and 2010 model year Ram trucks.
The Jeep Liberties have an improperly formed brake booster rod retaining clip, and some Ram trucks may have been built without the piece. This part is essential for proper functioning of the brakes.
The problem was detected by factory workers who noticed a malformed part, and in one case a worker experienced a complete loss of brake power during testing.
If you are an owner of one of these vehicles you should contact NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or Chrysler at 800-853-1403.
If you, a family member or other loved one has been the victim of a dangerous or defective product or machine, you need an experienced medical product liability lawyer. Please call or click to speak directly with an attorney with The Williams Law Group. We can help!
