Fuji Film to Close Tullahoma Plant

Posted on Jan 27, 2010

Fuji Film processing plant in Tullahoma, TN will be closing in March 2010.  Over 200 Coffee County employees will lose their jobs.

The plant, which has been manufacturing film since 1996, is closing due to the increased use of digital photography.

Fuji's closing comes at a time when there are already 2,500 jobless workers in Coffee Co. which has a total population of less than 25,000.
The newest figures from the State of Tennessee show that in December the unemployment rate hit 10.9 percent, the highest it's been since 1983.  That's 3.3 percent higher than December of last year.

IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER HAVE HAD A PAST WORK RELATED INJURY IN WHICH WORKERS COMPENSATION WAS PAID,
YOU MAY BE DUE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION.

Tennessee Workers Compensation Laws provide that, if an employee receives a Workers Compensation settlement or judgment and the employer has returned the employee to work, the amount of the settlement or judgment is limited.  Thereafter, if the employee loses their job for any reason including PLANT CLOSINGS, the employee may be entitled to have the previous award enlarged.
