Los Angeles, California - A helicopter that belonged to the Air and Marine unit of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection experienced an emergency while on patrol between Long Beach Airport and San Diego. The McDonnell Douglas 600N, made a forced landing on the beach near Onofre, CA because of engine trouble.
The L.A. Times reported, that the three crew members on board were able to exit the aircraft on their own are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
