Two families have retained Keith Williams to further investigate the circumstances surounding the near tragic incident of Southwest Flight 2294.

Southwest flight 2294 was traveling from Nashville, TN to Baltimore, MD when the passengers were forced to experience a life-changing event.  The Boeing 737-300 made an emergency landing in Charleston, WV after an explosive and sudden decompression of the cabin while at 34,000 feet. This sudden cabin decompression was caused when the fuselage ripped open forming a 17 inch hole near the rear of the airplane.

The passengers were subject to an extended period of horrifying panic as the crew advised them to put on their oxygen masks and prepare for a crash landing. Many people aboard the flight traveled for their jobs or to visit extended family and can now no longer bear flying as they must relive the panic and horror. Most aboard were sure they were going to die in a crash.  Some suffered injuries as the plane made a dive to a lower altitude and the resulting debris that flew about the cabin. Others suffered panic attacks and heart pains.

While the flight diverted and landed, these passengers, including our clients, are left with life altering anxiety and post traumatic stress suffered due to the incident.  It is not known whether poor maintenance, poor materials in construction, poor construction or if the plane was flying at an unsupportable altitude. Something caused a large section of the fuselage to rip open and the airplane manufacturers, FAA and airport authorities must find out what happened in order that it doesn’t happen again in the future, perhaps ending in a catastrophic crash.
